Dan Aid is an internationally acclaimed musician and actor currently based out of Los Angeles, CA. Outside of his work with his last band, Authority Zero, he is also a writer, visual artist, director and producer. As a musician he has toured the world, playing shows and festivals from Osaka to Montreal with such acts as Weezer, Sum 41, Bowling For Soup, The Cure, and Nofx. Since 2005 he has written, recorded, and released 16 studio albums with his various projects. Over the past decade he has worked with a variety of organizations including: Children’s Hospital Colorado, the Vocal Coalition, Music Mentors Collaborative, A+ Angeles, Love Hope Strength, Music For Cancer, and Youth On Record.
Dan grew up doing theater in Colorado then moved to New York City in 2007 after being accepted to NYU, Tisch School of The Arts where he studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory. He was recurring on Showtime's Emmy awarding winning series SMILF which also featured his song "Pretty Good Heart", and in 2023 he made his film debut in Alexander Payne's Oscar winning movie The Holdovers.
Dan also worked as an assistant engineer at Colorado Sound Studios under JP Manza (Mumford & Sons, Panic! At The Disco), and received his Bachelors of Music Industry Studies from CU Denver. Before his music career took him away from Denver, he worked as a Program Manager for The Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), where he helped create and manage the IMTour grant, Created and hosted The Denver Music Summit (2013 & 2015), and represented WESTAF at The Future of Music Policy Summit in Washington D.C. (2013 & 2014).
